The following list of speakers have been confirmed for Youth Conference 2007. They will be running 9 concurrent workshops of which delegates can nominate which ones to attend. Speaker’s Profile
Pr Mark Finley, General Conference Vice PresidentA native of New York, USA, Finley became a vice president at the 2005 General Conference Session in St. Louis, after serving nearly two years as general field secretary at the world headquarters, directing the Center for Global Evangelism. Evangelism is where Finley has made his mark on the world, having led in over 100 meetings around the globe with resulting baptisms numbering in the thousands. His best known association is as a television speaker, first for the It Is Written telecast for 20 years and also as the speaker for three Net evangelism satellite series, broadcast around the world. He has used his preaching and evangelism gifts to teach others in field schools and evangelism institutes throughout his career. As a vice president, Finley continues his work with evangelism and Adventist television as his primary portfolio. Peter Gregory, Bible Trainer and International Evangelist Peter has served as youth pastor in Hawaii and Riverside Korean SDA Church, California. He is also an instructor with Amazing Facts College of Evangelism. He has trained many young people as a trainer and director of IONA bible school. Peter is a well known speaker at conferences through out USA and travel extensively to share the gospel message. He preached at the 2001 evangelistic meetings in Melbourne City which was organized by Gateway. He will also be running a workshop on ‘How to teach the Bible’. Pr Randy Skeete, International EvangelistPastor Skeete is the Campus Ministries Evangelist at University of Michigan, USA. For many years, he was the speaker for The Quiet Moment Radio Broadcast and served also as the Director of Academic Enrichment at University of Michigan Medical School. A graduate from Oakwood College and Andrews University. Pr Skeete has a unique ability to memorize large portion of the Bible and often preaches without needing to refer to the physical pages of the Bible. He will also be sharing in the workshop on ‘How to preach’. Pr Louis Torres, Director of Mission College Prior to his conversion, Pr Torres played in the Bill Haley's and the Comets band. He has dedicated his life to ministry and has trained more than 300 lay evangelists. Pr Torres has served as a pastor, missionary and pastoral secretary in the New York conference, and is presently the director at Mission College. He has conducted numerous evangelistic series, many of which involved young people. Johnny Wong, Elder – Gateway Adventist CentreJohnny has had managerial experience in the corporate sector, and is currently an elder at Gateway Adventist Centre. He has served as an executive member of the Victoria Conference as a lay member, and has held seminars interstate for campus and cell group ministry. He has played a key role in the establishment of Gateway, a visionary initiative which has planted a group of Adventists in the heart of the Melbourne business district and universities. He has devoted his time to leadership and training, particular in the small group and personal ministry area. Dan Vis, Director – Bible School, Uchee Pines, GA, Author – FAST ministryDan Vis is founder and director of FAST Missions, a lay training ministry dedicated to helping Christians everywhere memorize Scripture effectively, live it out practically, and pass it on to others consistently. Dan has taught Bible at both the academy and collegiate levels, and has conducted lay training workshops across the United States, and in Canada, Europe, and Asia. Dan currently lives in Seale, Alabama with his lovely wife Vi, and daughter, Rebecca. Dr Allan Lindsay, NSW Conference Dr. Allan Lindsay, historian, ex lecturer from Avondale College and previous leader of the Ellen White Research Centre in the South Pacific. Dr Allan Lindsay is an authority on Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) having conducted extensive research on how to best use SOP in the church. He is writer and presenter of a landmark DVD series entitled - "Keepers of the Flame" which explores at length SOP. He recently presented at the General Youth Conference and was speaker at New Zealand Youth Conference in 2006. Dr Clarence Ing, USADr. Clarence S. F. Ing was born in California and is a graduate of Loma Linda University, School of Medicine in 1963. He has been at the NEWSTART Medical Clinic at Weimar Institute since October 1997 and is currently the President of the NEWSTART Medical Clinic and Medical Director of the NEWSTART Program at Weimar Institute. Since his arrival at Weimar he has been a speaker for the NEWSTART, Reversing Diabetes and Obesity Seminars throughout the United States, Japan, England, Scotland, South Africa and Singapore. Hobbies and interests include running, scuba diving, skiing, snow and water, golf and physical fitness. Both Dr. Clarence and May have completed marathons and enjoy their work sharing with others God's love and the gospel through the medium of health. Through the health ministry we can reach souls that cannot be reached by other means and the joy of soul winning is a joy that cannot be matched by any other endeavor. Pr Greg Evans, Victoria Conference Greg Evans is currently the pastor of the Preston Seventh-day Adventist Church in Melbourne. He was born in Warburton, Victoria, but raised and educated in Queensland, where he acquired degrees in veterinary science, administration, and management. For about 20 years, Greg cared for the physical wellbeing of animals in his capacity as a veterinarian in his practices in Brisbane and Melbourne. In the mid- nineties, he accepted the call of the Lord to ministry, and studied theology at Avondale College, graduating in 1999. Now, as a pastor, his primary care is for the spiritual wellbeing of God’s children. He is married to Suzanne, and they have two daughters, Cherie and Tereen, who are still at home.
