![]() David and Violeta Asscherick Director ARISE Institute, Senior Pastor, Troy SDA Church, Michigan Conference David Charles Asscherick, 33, is an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Director of ARISE (A Resource-Institute for Soulwinning and Evangelism), an evangelistic training school for laymen and clergy. He is a sought after speaker both nationally and internationally. A dynamic, clear, and relevant speaker, his frequent appearances on 3ABN are a favourite of young and old alike the world over. He became a Christian at the age of 23 after reading the book the Great Controversy, by Ellen White. In addition to his extensive traveling, teaching, and preaching responsibilities, he is also an avid rock climber, fly fisherman, surfer, bird watcher, nature photographer and reader. He and his wife, Violeta, are the happy parents of two energetic and fun-filled boys, Landon and Jabel. The Asscherick family lives in Troy, Michigan where David pastors the Troy SDA Church and directs the ARISE school. In his "spare" time, David is preparing a series of full-format photographic books highlighting the beauty and power of both creation and Creator. The first volume, Consider the Ravens, which highlights the special beauty of birds, is well underway and will be released late 2006. Pr Geoff YouldenEvangelist, Senior Pastor – Australian Union Conference/Greater Sydney Conference Geoff Youlden has spent 33 years in pastoral ministry. A renowned speaker, he has lectured in many cities in Australia and around the world. Geoff Youlden also has 15 years of experience in media ministry (television and radio), being the host/presenter on several highly acclaimed video series such as 'Daniel' and 'The Search'. Geoff Youlden has a passion for sharing Jesus with people and this is reflected in his desire to share anywhere when the opportunity rises. Pr E Bruce PriceRetired Pastor – Waitara Church, Division departmental director Pr E B Price pastor Waitara Church for 16 years and had seen "235 souls were baptized, and a further 18 were reclaimed and rebaptized." He has served the church as division departmental director. He iss an expert in reaching out to Jehovah's Witnesses and has conducted lay evangelism training in Australia, Europe and USA. Pr Chester StanleyPresident, Australian Union Conference (AUC) Pr Chester Stanley has recently been reappointed for another 5 years as President of AUC. In the last 4 years as President, he has seen the merger of two unions. He served as President of one of the Unions and at different capacities in church administration. He has a passion for young people to be train and be effective soul-winners. He will be one of the speakers at the opening session. Pr Louis Torres Director, Mission College of Evangelism, Oregon, USA Pror to his conversion, Pr Torres played in the Bill Haley's and the Comets band. He has dedicated his life to ministry and has trained more than 300 lay evangelists. Pr Torres has served as a pastor, missionary and pastoral secretary in the New York conference, and is presently the director at Mission College. He has conducted numerous evangelistic series, many of which involved young people. Dr Wolfgang StefaniMusic and Religion Scholar, Senior Pastor, Adelaide City SDA Church, South Australia Conference Wolfgang Stefani graduated from Avondale College with a degree in theology in 1976 and from Andrews University with an M.A. in music in 1981. He also possesses an L.Mus.A in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. While pursuing a Ph.D. in music and religion at AU, he taught in the Oliver S. Beltz Chair in Worship and Church Music at the SDA Seminary, a position he held full-time from 1993 until 1995, following completion of his degree. After teaching theology for two years, he and his wife, returned to Australia in 1997. Mr Johnny Wong Personal Ministries Co-ordinator, Elder, Gateway Adventist Centre, Victoria ConferenceJohnny has had managerial experience in the corporate sector, and is currently an elder at Gateway Adventist Centre. He is also on an executive member of the Victoria Conference as a lay member, and has held seminars interstate for campus and cell group ministry. He has played a key role in the establishment of Gateway, a visionary initiative which has planted a group of Adventists in the heart of the Melbourne business district and universities. He has devoted his time to leadership and training, particular in the small group and personal ministry area. Mr Edmund YeohCare Group Ministry Co-ordinator, Gateway Adventist Centre, Victoria Conference Edmund is a graduate from the University of Melbourne, and has had corporate experience in management consulting both in Australia and in the US. He is currently an executive member of the SDA Australia Union Board. He has been the co-ordinator of Small Group ministry at Gateway for the past 1 ½ years, and has grown from 6 to 9 groups, and aiming for 12 in 2006. His passion is in finding, winning and keeping new souls to the kingdom of heaven, and directly witnessing spiritual growth.
